MUYESSER AYFER KURTULUS

Since 2020, I have been creating ecological uniq textile design pieces in the workshop I built with my own hands in the rural landscape of the Omerli Watershed, on the outskirts of Istanbul. Alongside my design practice, I organize nature- and design-based workshops for both adults and children. I also continue to learn and grow through hands-on experience in ecological gardening and small-scale farming.

I completed both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Textile and Fashion Design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During my graduate studies, I specialized in eco-printing and natural dyeing techniques.

After working for many years as a textile designer, I stepped away from the industry while raising my children. During this period, I immersed myself in natural living, wholesome nutrition, and ecological practices, while also volunteering with various non-profit ethic ecological organizations.
Volunteering has been a meaningful part of my life since my twenties. In recent years, I have been mentoring children living in residential care homes by hosting ecological design workshops in my studio.

For me, design is not merely an aesthetic practice—it is a natural extension of the way I live. I live in the countryside, close to the soil, surrounded by plants and animals. Both the challenges and the gifts of this way of life continually inspire my creative work.

I value natural materials, slow craftsmanship, thoughtful making, and timeless design. Every piece I create draws inspiration from nature, the changing seasons, old stories, the quiet elegance of creative women, and the beauty found in the small details of everyday life.

Rather than mass production, I am devoted to creating meaningful objects that can be cherished for years, form personal connections, and reflect conscientiously for both people and the natural world .

Muyesser is not only a Brand of handmade designs, but also the story of a continuing crafting search for grace simplicity, love, care, originality, creativity, and an ethical life lived in harmony with nature.
